Bespoke watches

Your friends and colleagues are some of the most important people in your life.

And whether those friendships have been forged on the battlefield, in the sky or even on the Sunday league pitch, there’s an unbreakable bond between you all.

Without wanting to get too touchy-feely about it, this is worth marking with something that’ll last a little longer than a boys’ weekend or a once-in-a-blue-moon reunion.

Something like a bespoke watch.

Over recent years, Christopher Ward has undertaken tailored watch commissions for RAF squadrons, army battalions and navy vessels, as well as various private clubs.

They’ve all been able to customise the Christopher Ward watch of their choice by choosing the colour of the dial, and adding engravings and insignia along the way.

And as the Christopher Ward ethos is about bringing high quality watches within everyone’s reach, you won’t be surprised this also extends to our commissioned watches.

Our bespoke watches are, generally, only £60 more than standard models and they’ll be exclusive to you and your friends.

  • What's the process?

When you first get in contact, we’ll discuss your initial ideas and requests, as well as choosing the specific watch to base the commission on. Once you’ve supplied your chosen logo we’ll work together to develop the final design.

We’ve got a great relationship with the Ministry of Defence so insignia permissions for military artwork can be obtained. But we can discuss all of this once you get in touch.

  • What can be customised?

This can vary by base watch model, but typically the face and back-plate can be redesigned and engraved. A combination of alternative dial colour and engraved caseback gives a series production model a completely new feel.

  • What are the lead times?

Typically the process takes between five to six months from sign-off.

  • Costs and minimums

There are certain fixed costs associated with any bespoke edition, but generally we’re able to deliver your watch for around £60 above the standard version if the order is for 50 or more pieces.

Orders between 35 and 50 watches will carry a higher price to cover the fixed costs of manufacture in Switzerland.

Unfortunately, we cannot produce a run of bespoke watches that consists of less than 35 pieces.
