| "I just wanted to share our family’s joy on giving my father his C8SKT-MK2 on his 80th birthday today. He explained to everyone that he had only ever had one decent quality watch in his life – as an RAF pilot in the late 40s/early 50s. Unfortunately, when he left the service (he was the youngest British pilot on the Berlin Airlift) he had to hand his watch in. As he could never afford such a good watch again for the next nearly 50 years he just made do with anything cheap and cheerful that came along – until today! Exactly the same thing happened to my grandfather. He flew Sopwith Camels with the Royal Flying Corps in WW1 and bombers with the RAF in WW2. On the last day of his military service he too had to hand in his watch, which I know upset him immensely after what he and that watch had been through. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect, the weight is perfect, the dial configuration is crisp and clean, the lume is very nice.
